The scope of work included:

• Structural inspection for fracture critical/non critical/non-redundant members and fatigue prone details of various types of steel bridges
• Safety inspection for bridge under deck concrete and the top of bridge sidewalks, bridge railings and approaches for pedestrians and vehicular traffic

This project also included:

• Maintaining and monitoring BIPPI and WINBOLTS updates for Team Leaders and QCE
• Coordinating with BPPI and VIRTIS technical support
• Preparing BIPPI and load rating submissions

These inspections were all performed per NYSDOT Inspection Guidelines.

NYSDOT 2008-2009 Construction Inspection for Recharge Basin Reconditioning, Suffolk County, NY

The project was for Construction Inspection Services to rehabilitate and correct existing deficiencies in approximately 30 recharge basins within Suffolk County, in the Towns of Smithtown, Brookhaven and Southampton.

SIMCO, as a subconsultant, provided construction management service for improvements, which included reconditioning of recharge basin. The scope entailed:

• Construction of embankments
• Trimming trees
• Bottom scarification and removal of silt build-up
• Re-grading and/or re-establishing side slopes to proper grades

Head walls and drainage outlet pads were repaired, pipes cleaned, and erosion control added as needed.

Existing fencing and gates repaired as necessary, and access roadways repaired and cleared of vegetation and debris.
