Resident Engineering Inspection Services for Installation of High Priority Pedestrian Safety Sidewalks, Citywide

SIMCO Engineering, P.C., as a JV Lead Partner, provided REI Services for construction of sidewalks, pedestrian ramps, site safety, liaison of work with city agencies, and maintenance protection of traffic. 

 The scope of working cluded:

• Reviewing and approving shop drawings.
• Reviewing and approving rebar drawings/shop drawings and placement of all steel reinforcement and structural steel for structures.
• Sidewalk assessments were accurately and properly recorded by block, lot and address.
• Verifying that the Contractor had obtained all necessary permits, certificates, licenses or approvals required for the performance of the work.
• Violation notices properly served & acknowledged by property owner (certified mail registered receipt).
• Supervising the performance of all detailed inspection and field testing of materials
• Inspecting the project on a periodic basis and prior to substantial completion.
• Ensuring that no construction work commences until shop drawings were approved.
• Photographs of existing sidewalk conditions for each sidewalk violation properly indexed by address, block and lot.
• Performing continuous inspection and quality control of MPT to ensure that all work zone safety devices, including construction signs and pavement markings, were properly installed and maintained at all times during construction.
• Making recommendations regarding the approval of subcontractors and vendors. Took action to prevent the installation of work or furnishing material not approved for the project
