Sanitary Sewer Replacements, Storm Sewer Extensions & Water Main Replacements at Different Locations in the Borough of Queens.
SIMCO Engineering, P.C. provided partial REI Services for Sanitary Sewer Replacement, Storm Sewer Extensions & Water Main Replacements at Different Locations in the Borough of Queens, NY.
This was a capital project to replace water mains, sanitary sewers and storm sewer extensions and appurtenances at the following locations:
- 58th Avenue between 187th Street and 188th Street
- 48th Avenue and 50th Avenue
- Peck Avenue between 219th Street and 86th Avenue
- 211th Street between 48th Avenue and 50th Avenue
The project included the replacement of existing 12’’, 8” and 6’’ DIP water main (1,200 LF), which included the reconstruction of cast basin shut connection and walk pedestrian ramp curb. The project also included the installation of new and old storm and sanitary sewers which were 30’’, 18’’ and 15’’.
Our Inspection crew:
- Monitored, inspected and document all contractor work and ensured that all work was done according to the latest NYCDEP Specifications
- Assisted the DEP crew in water shut downs
- Reached out to home and business owner
- Ascertained that the work was performed in a safe and healthy manner as per OSHA regulations
- Documented the contractor work and provided daily reports, and
- Provided As-Built records such as In Service Sheets, Tap Cards, and Field Cards
The Office Engineer established a filing system which facilitated the documentation of the contract and processed the contractor payments.
The Resident Engineer reviewed all manufacturer certificates for pipes and fittings to ensured quality and compliance with specifications and coordinated the work with the utility company and other city agencies.
