Brooklyn Bridge
The historic Brooklyn Bridge connects the Boroughs of Manhattan and Brooklyn.
SIMCO was requested by NYCDOT Office of Construction Management and Coordination (OCMC) to conduct a detailed traffic model and corridor-wide traffic simulations to evaluate proposed Maintenance of Traffic schemes during construction activities on the bridge (currently on-going). This included analysis of traffic diversions to the Manhattan Bridge, Hugh L. Carey (Brooklyn Battery) Tunnel and the Williamsburg Bridge. Extensive coordination was maintained with numerous stakeholders, including local, state and regional agencies and community planning boards.
SIMCO continues to provide technical support for analysis of staged Maintenance of Traffic for the rehabilitation of the bridge ramps on this facility.
